CPC-led development in China extraordinary: Xu Jianchao

Xu Jianchao is from China's northeastern Heilongjiang province, and started his campus life in the School of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University in the autumn of 2020.

Born into a family whose members all joined the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xu was greatly influenced by his family’s spirit and thought. Inspired by his grandfather, who once served as a soldier in the border area, he closely followed current affairs in China and the world through practical action.

At his junior high school, he visited Russia for friendly exchanges with local authorities and students on the issue of environmental protection. “I just felt a strong sense of responsibility because our country was making utmost efforts to guide the young generation and calling for all-round cooperation with other countries on tackling the global crisis”.

The CPC is celebrating its 100th anniversary on July 1st. Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people have made extraordinary achievements. He believes it is a sense of responsibility that pushes the country forward. “China has successfully built a moderately prosperous society and eradicated extreme poverty, with no one left behind,” he says. “And in collaboration with developed and developing countries, we are now working pragmatically towards a community of shared future for mankind.”

Looking to the future, Xu expresses his strong desire to be a member of the CPC, just as his family did. “I wish to be part of it and join the efforts to build a better tomorrow for people around the world.
